Barrios will join DLA Piper on 25 January and his arrival will give a strong boost to the Litigation, Arbitration and Regulatory Law Department, led by partner Borja de Obeso.
José María Barrios has until now been a partner in the Regulatory and Compliance area of Deloitte Legal, a firm he joined in 2018, where he has come to lead the TMT and energy sectors for the legal practice. He previously developed his professional career at Clifford Chance, ACS Group and Pérez-Llorca.
During his more than twenty years of professional career, José María has developed extensive experience in a wide range of matters related to administrative contracts, expropriations, urban planning and the environment, as well as in a wide variety of regulated sectors such as transport, public infrastructure, aeronautics, hotels, telecommunications, media, and, especially, in the energy sector, having advised major industrial clients, public entities, financial institutions, funds, etc., in transactions of different types related to these sectors. He also advises clients on all types of proceedings (including disciplinary proceedings) before different bodies, both administrative and contentious-administrative.
