This promotion is part of the firm’s clear commitment to this practice, one of the most active and consolidated in the firm. Proof of this is the recent incorporation of Roberto Tojo to lead the area in Spain, with the aim of continuing to lead some of the most relevant and high volume transactions in the market, where a great deal of activity is expected in the coming years.

Itxaso has more than 15 years of experience in the Real Estate sector, advising national and international investors in all types of real estate transactions. Throughout her professional career, she has participated in a multitude of purchase and sale, development and financing operations. He has advised on projects in all types of sectors, including residential, hotel, logistics, offices, shopping centres and, more recently, data centres. In recent months she has participated in some of the most important transactions in the Spanish market, leading the first acquisition in Spain by Scannell Properties, the sale of Hotel Axel in Barcelona, and advising KKRR and Global Infrastructure Partners on the acquisition of CyrusOne.

Trained at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, she is recognised as one of the leading experts in Real Estate practice by the most prestigious legal directories such as Chambers Europe and The Legal 500. Prior to joining Dentons in 2015, she worked at other leading law firms such as Cuatrecasas and Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

Jabier Badiola, managing partner of Dentons in Spain, highlighted Itxaso’s extensive experience and recognition in the Spanish real estate sector. “Her promotion is part of our clear commitment to the internal career of our lawyers and the retention of the best talent,” he says.

For her part, the new partner of the firm assures that “Dentons España has one of the most diversified practices in the real estate sector in our country, which allows us to participate in large transactions. I am very happy and proud to work in a global firm with one of the largest and best valued Real Estate practices in Europe, with an excellent team of lawyers with a lot of experience in sophisticated transactions”, she adds.

Legal Dealmaker predicted this appointment in its article Partners To-Be. Itxaso was also included in Legal Dealmaker’s selection of Top Real Estate Dealmakers in Spain, published last March 28.
