Cuatrecasas names three new counsel

Cuatrecasas has approved the appointment of three new counsel: Javier Alós Domench (Corporate and M&A), Pedro de Castro (Public Law) and María Igea Arriazu (Corporate and M&A)

Javier Alós Domench | Corporate and M&A, Barcelona | German Desk

Specialist in cross-border M&A transactions, private equity, joint ventures and corporate groups restructuring, as well as in contract and corporate law. He has also advised on transactions to acquire, build, develop and finance renewable energy projects, real estate developments of shopping centres, office buildings, and hotel complexes. A member of the Barcelona Bar Association, he developed his career at the firm’s offices in Barcelona, New York and Mexico City. He advises national and international clients—with the main focus on those from German-speaking countries—on their investments and business activities in Spain and Latin America.

Pedro de Castro | Public Law, Lisbon

Specialist with extensive experience in advising public and private entities on administrative and civil litigation proceedings, particularly related to public procurement. A 20-year member of the Portuguese Bar Association, he is one of the country’s most renowned lawyers in sectors such as telecommunications, IT, healthcare, the professional services, and the automotive and construction industries.

María Igea Arriazu | Corporate and M&A, Madrid

Specialist in commercial and real estate law. She advises on company acquisitions, M&A transactions, investment agreements and joint ventures, as well as on the buying and selling, construction, management and leasing of all types of real estate assets. An expert in real estate law, she has extensive experience in the hotel, residential, office, data centre and energy centre sectors. A member of the Barcelona Bar Association, she worked at the Cuatrecasas London office and as a visiting lawyer at the London office of a leading US law firm, advising international clients and private equity funds.
