The results for 2022 are further confirmation of the trend towards growth established by Cuatrecasas over the last six years. Between 2017 and 2022, the firm experienced cumulative revenue growth of €104.96 million – an increase of 42.4%. With these figures, the firm once again confirms its leadership position within the international legal sector while also re-asserting its ongoing commitment to providing greater added value to clients.

In 2022, there was sustained growth in all the regions and practice areas in which the firm operates. Corporate continues to be the firm’s largest practice area, accounting for 44% of revenues – followed by Finance and Tax (26%), Litigation and Arbitration (22%), and Labor (8%).

In Spain, revenues totalled €292.19 million – 1.82% higher than in 2021. There was also significant growth in Portugal and Latin America, which are key pillars of the firm’s growth strategy. The firm’s revenues in Portugal increased by 19.6%, while in Latin America —where Cuatrecasas has a presence in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru—revenues were up 38% compared to 2021.

Cuatrecasas’s managing partner, Javier Fontcuberta, is unwavering in his assessment: “These are very good results, in line with the trend established in recent years. After a complicated year for the entire Cuatrecasas family, which has seen us come together more than ever before, we continue to work to offer the best solutions regardless of geographical barriers while always seeking to anticipate our clients’ needs.”

These results once again highlight Cuatrecasas’s dedication to its strategic plan by focusing on highly sophisticated cases that will improve the firm’s standing and profitability in the medium and long term. Cuatrecasas closed 2022 with 1,851 employees, including 1,256 lawyers and 251 partners.
