GAM (General Alquiler de Maquinaria) has acquired all the shares of Carretillas Mayor, a Valladolid-based company with more than 30 years’ experience in the sale, rental and maintenance of all types of handling, lifting, overhead cranes and AGVs (automated guided vehicles).
According to information provided by GAM to the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV), the transaction amounted to €30 million. Following this deal, the multinational now manages the more than 200 employees of Carretillas Mayor and adds to its product portfolio a fleet of machinery comprising approximately 3,000 pieces of equipment.
This acquisition allows GAM, the only listed company in its sector since 2006 and a leader in integrated solutions for industry of Spanish origin, to continue with its growth and international expansion process that it began years ago. It also represents a significant strengthening of its position in the Iberian Peninsula by absorbing a consolidated company with a presence in Valladolid, Burgos and Palencia, and with significant activity in Portugal.
Cuatrecasas advised GAM on this deal with a Commercial team led by partner Juan Aguayo, together with lawyers Soraya Romero and Jaime Sepúlveda.
