Cuatrecasas counsels ACO Iberia on REMOSA acquisition

Cuatrecasas has advised ACO Iberia on the acquisition of 100% of REMOSA, a deal by which ACO Iberia accelerates its growth in this sector, adding a line of complementary and strategic products to its offer

ACO Productos Polímeros SAU (ACO Iberia), a leading company in Spain and Portugal in drainage, channelling and rainwater management systems, has completed the acquisition of 100% of the company Recubrimientos y Moldeados S.A. (REMOSA), a specialist in the design and manufacture of products and solutions for the treatment, purification and regeneration of wastewater.

REMOSA is a benchmark in the Spanish market for the manufacture and distribution of Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP) solutions for the separation, purification and reuse of domestic and industrial water. The acquisition of this company by ACO Iberia represents a boost to its positioning strategy in the Water Treatment sector, a line on which the company has focused and is making its largest investments in R&D in recent years.

According to Miguel Rovira, General Manager of ACO Iberia, “The acquisition of REMOSA represents a great opportunity to strengthen the business of both companies, maintaining the current production and commercial organisation and making the most of the synergies in research and market development. ACO and REMOSA together give even more meaning to the mission of our group: To protect people from water and water from people.”

Valentí Reguant, CEO of REMOSA, said that “ACO Iberia, thanks to its resources and international dimension, is the ideal partner to ensure the future of the company and allow us to expand into new markets such as South America and North Africa. Both organisations share a strong commitment to research into improving solutions for the treatment of wastewater and rainwater, which translates into the regeneration and improvement of water quality and the promotion of its reuse”.

On this deal, REMOSA has been advised by Bnfix Pich Tax Legal Audit and Bnfix Advisory, while ACO IBERIA has been advised by Cuatrecasas, GIDE and Emporion GmbH.

Cuatrecasas´ team was led by Valencia office Corporate/M&A partner Mª José Guillén Ferrer, along with lawyers Suniva Gómez Fernández and Ángela Sanchis Bas.
