The collective agreement is valid from April 2023 to April 2025, and was officially sealed on Wednesday, February 15, at the Balearic Government’s headquarters.
By participating as the majority employer, the FEHM has played a decisive role in the negotiations of an agreement of clear strategic value for the economy of the Islands. The agreement reached is pioneering in terms of the regulation of the hotel and catering sector in Spain due to the significant wage and social improvements proposed for the benefit of nearly 160,000 workers who, among other measures, will see their wages increase by 8.3% over two years. This is the benchmark agreement in the national hotel and catering sector.
It is worth noting that, after weeks of intense negotiations and for the first time in history, the agreement has been reached unanimously and has been signed by all the employers’ associations and trade unions in the sector in the archipelago. A firm step forward that will serve both to give a strong boost to the companies operating in the sector and to protect the rights of their employees and create the stability that the sector needs to face the tourist season.
