Cuatrecasas advised the construction company Comsa on the sale of 50% of Sociedad Concesionaria Tranvía de Murcia S.A. and its operating joint venture to FCC, which took sole control of the municipal concession.
In 2009, Comsa and FCC obtained the concession for the construction, commissioning and operation of line 1 of the Murcia Tramway. With a length of 18 kilometres and 28 stops along its route, it currently has a fleet of 11 vehicles that provide regular transport services in the municipality of Murcia, connecting the city centre with the Nueva Condomina shopping area and the universities.
The Cuatrecasas team involved in the transaction was led by Commercial and M&A partner Alejandro Payá, who worked in collaboration with Juan Carlos Hernanz, Irene Moreno-Tapia, Xavier Morera and Javier García Peris.
