Cuatrecasas Acelera, the acceleration programme for technology-based and legally complex startups, has brought its sixth edition to a close with Demo Day. As in each edition, Cuatrecasas Acelera has provided all the participating startups with legal, technological and business support to promote their projects throughout the four months of the acceleration program, as well as access to clients and funding. The entrepreneurs have received special support from their legal mentors, a team made up of different Cuatrecasas professionals specializing in the startup sector. In this edition, this select group was made up of lawyers Jorge Canta, Juan Carlos Hernanz, Miguel Sánchez Monjo, Juan Felipe Vera, Jorge Monclús and Ariadna Casanueva, who, together with an innovation committee made up of more than 40 professionals, accompanied the startups throughout the program.
On this occasion, and for the second time in the history of Cuatrecasas Acelera, the members of the panel decided to give a special mention to two of the startups participating in the acceleration programme. Bia Power and Match Trial were announced as the most outstanding startups of this edition, especially taking into account the great potential for scalability and the social impact of both projects.
The energy startup Bia Power, the first startup in this sector to participate in an edition of Cuatrecasas Acelera, presented a platform that optimises the charging of electric vehicles in order to reduce costs, guarantee environmentally-friendly charging and enable clean and reliable electricity grids.
The health-tech Match Trial presented a project that accelerates the inclusion of cancer patients in clinical trials through a free application that works based on an intelligent algorithm.
