Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo has appointed Tomás Poveda Ortega, jurist, entrepreneur, senior executive and expert in international relations, as a partner in Seville, who will head a department for attracting and advising on Ibero-American investments.
Tomás Poveda is a senior executive & an entrepreneur himself with extensive experience as a manager in Europe at companies like General Electric (2010-2012) and Genworth Financial ( 2008-2010) as well as at the Spanish Government: director general Casa de América (2012-2015) and director general of Media and Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2016). TP also served on the staff of the vice-chairman of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs at the European Parliament in Brussels (2004 -2008).
Poveda is co-founder of Mobergy.com and Executive-VP EMEA of the San Ignacio de Loyola Educational Corporation and he serves on the Board of Directors. Tomás Poveda is also a co-founder of a biotech company.
Tomás Poveda obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2001. He studied for one year at the Law Faculty of the Université Paris-I Panthéon Sorbonne (2000-2001). He obtained the European Law Master Degree of the Institut Européen of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) (2007). He has also completed the PLGP (Public Management Leadership Program) from the IESE Business School (2012). In 2016 he participated at Harvard University, Boston, in the Global Leadership Workshop sponsored by the Fundación Rafael del Pino.
