José García Cueto focuses his practice on Commercial and investor-state International Arbitration and Mediation matters in Latin America and the US. He advises sponsors, EPC contractors, and governments on international disputes in a wide range of sectors including construction, energy and infrastructure, gas, pipelines, and power plants.
He has experience advising on ICC commercial disputes, UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICDR and ad hoc arbitrations.
García Cueto is a Law graduate from ESADE Barcelona and holds a Master´s degree in Business Law from Centro de Estudios Garrigues and Harvard, and an LLM from Georgetwodn University Law Center.
He started his career at Garrigues Barcelona office in 2009 as an associate and joined Clifford Chance Washington D.C. office in 2014, making counsel in 2020. He was admitted as an Attorney at Law in New York 2015, as a Special Legal Consultant in Washington D.C. in 2016 and as an Attorney in Law in Washington D.C. in 2021.
He has been recognised by Chambers & Partners, Legal500 and WWL in International Arbitration.
