B&B advises Stellantis on Clicars acquisition

Bird & Bird has advised Stellantis, through its subsidiary Aramis Group, on its acquisition of 100% of the Spanish online car buying and selling company Clicars


The car group Stellantis, through its subsidiary Aramis Group, has acquired 100% of the Spanish online car buying and selling company Clicars. Until now, the manufacturer was the main shareholder of this website which, since its foundation in 2016, It has invoiced more than 500 million euros in its six years of existence.

Clicars joined Aramis Group in 2017 and is the Group’s brand in Spain, and has experienced exponential revenue growth since its acquisition by Aramis.

Aramis Group is a leading European B2C platform to acquire a used car online and brings together four brands: Aramisauto, Cardoen, Clicars and CarSupermarket, in France, Belgium, Spain and the UK respectively. The Group is transforming the used car market and is putting digital technology at the service of customer satisfaction with a fully vertically integrated business model. For the full 2021 fiscal year, Aramis Group generated revenues of €1.36 billion, sold more than 80,000 B2C vehicles, and recorded more than 73 million
visits to its websites. At the end of September 2021, the Group had more than 1,800 employees, a network of 60 agencies and three industrial refurbishing sites. Aramis Group is listed on compartment A of the Euronext Paris stock exchange.

Barely a month ago, Clicars appointed Jose Carlos del Valle CEO, who had previously worked for a year and a half as director of sales, deliveries and financing of the company. He will be supported in his new role by a management team made up of both long-standing Clicars employees and new profiles.

Co-founded in 2016 and with only €5M of capital raised, Clicars is already one of the 500 largest companies in Spain, billing more than €500M profitably, creating +600 job positions and revolutionizing the automotive sector, being the pioneer in Europe in online car sales.

The Bird & Bird´s team advising Stellantis was formed by Corporate partner Lourdes Ayala, counsel Alberto Rodríguez, senior associate Antonio Ballesteros and associate Mónica Sangalli.
