Baker appoints new co-managing partner, promotes two partners

Baker McKenzie has appointed Bruno Domínguez, head of the firm´s Tax practice in Barcelona, new co-managing partner, who will lead the firm along with Rodriogo Ogea, replacing Javier Menor, who will devote to the M&A practice. The firm has also promoted Javier Blázquez and Rubén Lago to Tax partners in Barcelona

Bruno Domínguez, head of the Tax Law practice in Barcelona and of the Steering Committee of the firm’s Wealth Management practice in EMEA, will be the new co-managing partner of Baker McKenzie in Spain effective 1 July 2022.

Bruno Domínguez will share the leadership and management of the firm with Rodrigo Ogea, with the aim of continuing the firm’s growth, consolidating its leadership as the leading international law firm in Spain.

The new co-managing partner specialises in advising family-owned companies and multinationals on corporate Restructurings, Mergers and Acquisitions, Transfer Pricing and cross-border transactions. He will take over from Javier Menor who, following the end of his three-year will return to devote his full time to M&A practice.

In parallel to this appointment, Baker McKenzie has promoted two new partners in the firm´s Barcelona office. They are Javier Blázquez and Rubén Lago, both integrated in the Tax department. The promotions will take effect on 1 July, consolidating the strong growth of the firm’s Tax practice.

Javier Blázquez is specialised in International Tax advice and representation before the Spanish tax authorities for technology, software and e-commerce companies, as well as in the pharmaceutical and retail industries.

Rubén Lago specialises in the Tax Planning of Corporate transactions, M&A, Corporate Restructuring and Private Equity.
