The Board of Directors of Atlantic Copper, at the proposal of its CEO, Javier Targhetta, has approved the appointment of Macarena Gutiérrez as the Company’s new Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Administration Officer, adding to her current responsibilities (Economic-Financial, Information Systems and Corporate Communication) the areas of Organisation and Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility, Legal Affairs and Internal Audit.
Atlantic Copper’s CEO, Javier Targhetta, stressed in a statement that “we have achieved great successes in recent years and I congratulate the entire team for their effort and dedication, while facing important challenges and responsibilities that we have yet to successfully complete, such as safety in the workplace, decarbonisation plans, growth in the production and marketing of other metals, and many more that we will continue to pursue in order to anticipate events and position Atlantic Copper as a global benchmark in metal metallurgy from an economic, social, environmental and digital point of view.”
In this sense, Targhetta said, “this appointment responds to an organisational change aimed at strengthening the actions necessary to achieve these objectives fully and promptly, and Macarena, throughout her long professional career, has shown outstanding leadership qualities and her dedication is one of the fundamental pillars in the construction of the great company that Atlantic Copper is today.”
For her part, Macarena Gutiérrez expressed her most sincere gratitude for this appointment and “for these new responsibilities to which I commit myself with great enthusiasm and dedication, the same enthusiasm as 25 years ago when I joined the company, but with much more experience and preparation to take on all these future challenges.”
Macarena Gutiérrez holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Villanueva University and a Diploma in Management Development (PDD) from IESE. Her professional career began at Arthur Andersen in 1993, in Auditing. In 1997 she joined Atlantic Copper as head of Financial Control. In 2001 she was appointed director of Planning and Control and, in 2005, CFO and member of the Management Committee. Since October 2008, she has also been responsible for Corporate Communications, and in 2010, she became the company’s Information Systems manager. As of 8 June 2022, she was appointed general manager of Atlantic Copper and her responsibilities include Organisation and Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility, Legal Affairs and Internal Audit.
