Atland, a firm specialising in legal and economic advice, is born

After more than ten years of sustained growth under the name JYM Abogados, the Aragonese law firm has entered a new phase with the incorporation of partners Luis Grech and Joaquim Massanella

At the origin of Atland is the Aragonese firm JYM Abogados, which, after more than 10 years of sustained growth and a turnover of more than €1.5m, is now entering a stage marked by a new organisational structure and a strategic territorial expansion plan following the integration into the new brand of the law firm One Step Ahead and the agreement reached with Damihifactum – also from Aragon – and the incorporation of the Catalan partners Joaquim Massanella and Luis Grech.

In order to achieve its objectives, the new brand, which currently has offices in Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza, has also announced the promotion of Paloma Larroy as a partner, and the arrival of Carlos Peralta as external Of Counsel. These four professionals have a proven track record after working for firms such as Garrigues, Cuatrecasas and EY.

“All our partners and Of Counsel come from big law firms, where they have held positions of responsibility, as can be seen in their way of working, very focused on the knowledge of our clients’ businesses”, says Juan Jiménez, partner of the firm in Zaragoza. “However, the typology of our structure also offers the proximity of a legal boutique, with direct dealings with the partners in charge and continuous accompaniment of clients in all their areas of activity, regardless of the specific speciality or specialities in which we are working,” he continues.

With the union of all these specialists, who have more than 20 years of experience, and the launch of the new brand, Atland aims to become the national firm of reference for the mid-market. “After the sustained growth we have experienced, we consider it strategic to reinforce the development we have been experiencing in recent years in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona. We believe that having a solid, but also flexible, structure in the Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona axis will allow us to reach practically the whole of this market, generating notable expectations of profitable growth that we hope to materialise”, says Javier Moreno, also a partner of the firm in the Aragonese capital.
