Under this agreement, Statkraft will count with the renewable energy from the 50 MW Guillena solar photovoltaic plant in Seville, which will be commissioned in mid-2023. The energy generated at this plant will be equivalent to the annual energy consumption of around 25,900 Spanish households and will save around 25,500 tonnes in CO2 emissions (estimate for 2022).
This project is part of the portfolio of around 3 GW that Aquila Clean Energy manages in Spain, with projects under development, construction and operation in various parts of the country. Andalucia is a key strategic region for the company, which already has five operating plants and 30 projects under development in Seville, Málaga, Córdoba, Cádiz, Granada, Jaén and Almería.
With this new agreement, Statkraft´s renewable portfolio to supply its customers in Spain and Portugal now reaches 1.3 gigawatts, one of the largest in the Iberian market. It includes the production of wind and solar assets across parts of the country.
