Andersen promotes five partners, two of them equity

Andersen has approved the promotion of five new partners in Spain, with the appointment of José Miguel López, Elena Martínez Hoces and Carlos Morales as professional partners, and the appointment of Javier Bustillo and Borja de Gabriel as equity partners

These promotions are in line with the firm’s strategy of promoting professional careers in the firm, as well as the projection of younger professionals in positions of responsibility, as shown by the access of partners to equity and the new position of international partners that this entails.

The managing partners of Andersen in Iberia, José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre have highlighted that these appointments represent “a new milestone, as this promotion has approved the access to partnership and equity of the youngest professionals in the history of the Firm, with the promotion of Carlos Morales to partner and the appointment of Javier Bustillo as a quota partner.” “This is a reflection of the constant improvement of the partnership model and the functioning of the firm, and is also the result of the involvement and the great capabilities of the professionals at Andersen.”

The 2023 promotions are in different areas, in particular Public Law, Culture, Corporate and Tax, which, according to the managing partners, “demonstrates the balance in all practices and reflects the firm’s obsession with sustainable growth”. “Our growth policy is based on high specialisation, and that is why we continue to reward the experience and knowledge of the team and to invest in the careers of the firm’s professionals in order to respond to the needs of both the national market and the global firm,” said Morote and Rodríguez-Sastre.

Javier Bustillo is a partner in Andersen’s Corporate and M&A department and has a professional career of more than 15 years, in which he has specialised in M&A and Venture Capital transactions, advising national and international companies from different sectors. He also has extensive experience in the entrepreneurial environment, advising venture capital funds and national and international companies and investors on their stakes in Spanish companies.

Borja de Gabriel is a partner in the Tax department and has 20 years of experience specialising in tax planning for investment and restructuring operations at the national and international levels and in providing recurring tax advice to multinational groups and family offices.

José Miguel López is a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law department and has extensive experience in the areas of environmental law, procurement, and public subsidies. He also has extensive experience in e-administration, interoperability, digitalisation and the use of electronic media in the public sector.

Elena Martínez Hoces is a partner in the Culture, Sports and Entertainment department and has developed her professional career mainly in advising in the audiovisual and performing arts sector, especially in the structuring of financial investment products for high-net-worth individuals.

Carlos Morales is a partner in the Public and Regulatory Law department and specialises in environmental, energy, mining, and regulated sectors. He has also developed his practice in the field of port law and special properties.
