Andersen leads on Trucksters´€14.3m funding round

Andersen has advised Spanish startup Trucksters on a €14.3 million Series A funding round

-

Trucksters, the Spanish startup that operates as a relay-based freight transport operator, has closed a Series A funding round valued at €14.3 million.

This is actually an extension of a recent deal. The company had closed another €6.3 million round in July last year, led by Spanish fund Kibo Ventures.

Both in July and now the German fund Amplifier, Bonsai Partners, the German joint venture of Axel Springer & Porsche, and the funds Big Sur Ventures, Metavallon VC and The Valley VC have backed the firm.

This new capital injection of €8m will be used to triple the technology team, enable carriers to get paid earlier for their trips and expand new corridors.

Glovo co-founder Sacha Michaud, a current investor in the startup and member of the Board of Directors, returns to invest in this round and becomes Non-Executive Chairman.

“What I have always loved most about Trucksters is how its model, based on technology and the possibility of relays, impacts the lives of truck drivers, as it allows them to spend less time away from home. Trucksters has turned a very good idea into a reality, with spectacular growth. We, the current investors, have decided to give them our full support, as they have enormous potential and there was no need to seek external funding. Trucksters is one of the most interesting start-ups on the current Spanish start-up scene,” said Michaud.

Andersen´s Corporate/M&A team advised Trucksters with a team led by partner Javier Bustillo, along with lawyer Jorge Flores.
