Andersen appoints Alonso Dregi Barcelona office head

Andersen has appointed Juan Ignacio Alonso Dregi as the new head of the firm´s Barcelona office with the aim of giving new impetus to the firm in Catalonia

Alonso Dregi joined Andersen in June 2022 from Ceca Magán Abogados.

The appointment of Alonso Dregi has been unanimously approved by Andersen’s Board of Directors as a firm commitment to the consolidation and growth of the team in Barcelona, a priority city for the present and future of the firm. Alonso Dregi, since his incorporation in June 2022, has been very close to the firm’s management, sharing vision and strategy on the future of the legal sector in Catalonia.

The managing partners of Andersen in Iberia, José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, have highlighted “the experience and recognition of Juan Ignacio Alonso Dregi and his extensive experience in national and international law firms, which will bring a vision perfectly aligned with the Firm’s objectives.”

They also stressed that the new director of the Barcelona office has “the ambitious challenge of leading the path set by the firm’s Strategic Plan for Barcelona to achieve the goal of placing the firm among the leading law firms in this region with the highest level of development in all practice areas, allowing us to offer a complete service from this city with the best professionals.”

Juan Ignacio Alonso Dregi holds a degree in Law from the Universidad CEU Abat Oliba and has more than 25 years of professional experience in which he has advised many companies in mergers and acquisitions, in investments of Spanish companies in their internationalisation processes, as well as in the establishment of foreign companies in Spain. He has also participated in restructuring operations in various sectors, with particular experience in real estate, automotive and retail. Previously, he developed his career in law firms such as Garrigues and Dentons.
