Andersen has incorporated Antonio Cañadas as a partner in the M&A area in the Madrid office, who joins the firm together with his team from Squire Patton Boggs LLP to expand capabilities in the corporate field. The firm thus adds three new professionals in the transactional practice with the addition of Teresa García and Borja Echegoyen as senior associates.

Antonio Cañadas holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master’s degree in EU and International Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain. He has more than 20 years of experience, having been a partner at Squire Patton Boggs since 2014 and having previously worked at Hammonds and Nauta Dutilh. During his professional career, he has specialised in the M&A area, advising a wide range of national and international companies on Merger and Acquisitions, divestments, structural modifications and business reorganisations, as well as general Corporate and Commercial advice.

Cañadas leads a Corporate and M&A team with extensive experience in investments by international funds in Spain, mainly in sectors such as education, technology,  industry or real estate, and advising large Spanish companies on their investments abroad. He has also been involved in advising entrepreneurs, mainly in national and international business angels and venture capital financing rounds.

Borja Echegoyen, who holds a degree in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE Law School, has more than 13 years of experience specialising in the areas of Corporate Law and M&A. Teresa García has a double degree in Business Administration and Management and Law from the University of Salamanca, and she has developed her over 10-years professional career focusing on advising on corporate transactions.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, co-managing partners of Andersen in Spain, have highlighted that Antonio Cañadas “has extensive experience in the transactional area and he and his team are a key asset for the firm, which continues its expansion strategy with a strong commitment to further strengthen the area.” “The M&A team now has eight partners specialised in this practice, which is key for the firm both nationally and internationally,” said the managing partners of Andersen in Spain, who stressed that, in Spain, the Corporate department led by partners Ignacio Aparicio and Ivo Portabales has 55 professionals and its transversal team allows “to offer a comprehensive service in corporate transactions, providing a solvent solution to the volume of transactions initiated last year and which is expected to be exceeded in 2022.”
