Andersen adds Labour partner from Laffer Abogados

Andersen has signed Germán Martínez as an Employment partner, reinforcing the capabilities of this department in the Madrid office

-

During his professional career, Germán has advised national and foreign companies on a wide range of Labour law matters, including, among others, hiring of employees and executives, remuneration systems and plans, pension commitments, individual and collective dismissals, collective bargaining and compliance with regulations, and has been involved in all types of pre-judicial and judicial proceedings and matters.

He joins Andersen from Laffer Abogados, where he has been working for more than seven years. Previously, he worked at Baker McKenzie Spain as senior associate-team director for almost 14 years. He combines his legal profession with his academic work as a teacher at the Master’s degree in Employment Advice and Consultancy of Universidad Juan Carlos III de Madrid.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, Andersen Iberia managing partners, highlighted that the incorporation of Germán Martínez represents “a new boost to the Labour area, which is led by Victoria Caldevilla and which has more than 15 people in the team.”

“As part of Andersen’s expansion plan, together with the commitment to new areas of specialisation, is the continued strengthening of the traditional practice areas that are a fundamental pillar of the Firm”, emphasised Morote and Rodríguez-Sastre, who insisted on “maintaining the line of growth to meet the ambitious roadmap set for this year, which is focused on attracting talent in order to have the best professionals.”

Germán Martínez is a Law graduate, specialising in EU Law, from the CEU San Pablo University in Madrid and holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from IE Business School. He has more than 20 years of experience in the practice of Law.
