The Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR) was from 1986 to 2017 an entity dedicated to the development of standardisation and certification (N+C) in all industrial and service sectors. In 2017, AENOR was legally separated into two independent parts. On the one hand, the current Spanish Association for Standardisation (UNE) was created, which is the entity designated by Spain to carry out standardisation activities in the country (UNE standards) and also participates in standardisation at international level (EN and ISO standards). On the other hand, conformity assessment activities (certification) and other auxiliary activities are in the hands of the new AENOR International, S.A.U.
